People of CityLife

Jacki Breger (Founder & Director)

1 JBJacki Breger has been active in the worlds of education, summer camps and youth development since 1965.  She has directed day and resident camps, including the first incarnation of CityLife as a summer camp for the teenage children of people who lived and worked in Downtown.  Jacki is also a musician who works in preschools and public and private elementary schools to develop a music program that builds a sense of community.  She produced and hosted a radio program for kids (relating folk and classical music to themes in history and social studies) and is the author of SINGING TOGETHER: How to Teach Songs and Lead Singing, published in 2012.  Jacki combines her knowledge and love of children and teenagers with her knowledge and love of music and the arts in a unique way to develop a curriculum that engages and supports the students in the program.
